Before you arrive

Get ready before Day 1

The studio moves fast: 1.5 days of learning, then straight into a two-day buildathon on problems you bring yourself. Spend 60–90 minutes on the steps below and you will start Day 1 ahead, not catching up.

Your checklist
  1. Set up your free Power Apps account

    Essential

Sign up for the free Microsoft Power Apps Developer Plan — it is sufficient for the entire learning and prototyping arc, with no paid licence required. Sign in once before Day 1 so you are not stuck at setup while the room moves on.

  2. Bring a ready laptop

    Essential

A Windows laptop with a current browser (Microsoft Edge or Chrome) and a stable login to your account. Power Apps Studio runs in the browser — no install needed. Make sure you can sign in to your Microsoft account on the venue Wi-Fi.

  3. Bring 2–3 problem statements

    Essential

This is an open-innovation studio: you pitch your own problems on Day 3, and the strongest ones anchor the teams. Come with two or three real pain points from your day-to-day work — a manual process, a spreadsheet that should be an app, a workflow that breaks. Rough is fine; field-rooted is what matters.

  4. Do a 20-minute Studio warm-up

    Recommended

Open Power Apps Studio and click around — create a blank canvas app, drop a label and a button, set the button's OnSelect. You do not need to finish anything; the goal is for the interface to feel familiar before M1 begins.

  5. Skim the M1 & M2 lessons

    Recommended

Modules 1 and 2 are open to read now. Skimming them — the Power Platform overview, canvas vs model-driven, and the first canvas-app lab — means the live sessions reinforce rather than introduce.
